Over the October 30th weekend our wrestling team competed at a national level tournament in Iowa with over 1,500 high school wrestlers from all over the United States. All the boys fought hard and competed intensely during every match!
A special congratulations to our National Champion at 126 pounds, senior Tiger Ortiz, who looked dominant the entire tournament and finished with a 7-1 victory in the finals. He also verbally committed to Cal Poly San Louis Obispo last night. He is beyond excited! Tiger and his mother Sara have told us SLO has been Tiger's dream school for years.
Freshman, Paul Kelly, finished in 2nd place at 106 pounds, and was exciting every match.
Freshman, Makoa McCreadie at 220 pounds and sophomore, Alex Miramontes at 182 pounds, each earned 6th place. Sophomore, Caleb Park came in 8th place at 120 pounds.
